The Giant's Club Mountains

The Giant’s Club Mountains, as its name implies, is home to frost giants. Not only giants roam the mountain range, however. Gnolls (hyena-headed evil humanoids) make their yearly migration through the mountain passes. Hobgoblins lie in ambush for merchants to raid. Arctic howlers patrol the steep slopes, preying on mountain goats and the occasional dwarf. Winter wolves as tall as horses ambush adventurers. Perhaps more feared than any other creature in Volfsten, the dreaded Frost Worm can surface from its hibernation without warning to consume unsuspecting travelers.

Despite these dangers, the Giant’s Club Mountains are home to several peaceful species. The mountain dwarves have long lived in the endless halls of Khordaldrum, the dwarven capital. Arctic hippogriffs use the mountains as their breeding grounds during the springtime. Giant sentient owls roost in abandoned watchtowers, offering their infinite wisdom to those who seek them out.
